What this covers
This policy explains what information LingoHop collects when you use the service, why we collect it, and what we do with it. If anything is unclear, email us at [email protected].
Information we collect
The only personal data we collect is what you give us:
- Email address — to send you sign-in links and (rarely) account-related messages. We never sell or share it.
- Watch activity — which videos you start, finish, and how long you watch. We use this to track your hours and recommend the next-best video.
- Daily goal & preferences — the goal you set and any in-app settings.
Information we don't collect
We don't collect names, addresses, phone numbers, payment details (no paid product yet), or any sensitive personal data. There's no password — we use email magic-links, so we don't store one.
Cookies and analytics
LingoHop uses one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We use Plausible Analytics to count page views in aggregate. Plausible doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across sites. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Third-party services
We rely on a small set of providers to run the service:
- Resend — sends the magic-link sign-in emails.
- Plausible — anonymous, aggregate page-view analytics.
- Digital Ocean — hosts the website and database.
- YouTube — videos themselves play in embedded YouTube players. YouTube's own privacy policy applies when you press play.
How long we keep data
We keep your account and watch history for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we wipe it within 30 days. Email us to request deletion.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to: see the data we hold on you, correct anything that's wrong, or delete it. Email [email protected]and we'll respond within a few working days.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we'll update the “last updated” date at the top and, for big changes, email you about it before they take effect.
